“Experts” Push For Lithium To Be Added To Our Drinking Water

Apparently there are not enough chemicals already added to our drinking water, as there is now a call by “experts” to further poison our water supplies by adding Lithium. Their main reason is to decrease suicide and violent crime rates.

So is this how we wish to function as a society? Instead of dealing with our issues at hand, let’s drug ourselves so that we don’t have to deal with personal subjects that may be perceived as hard, negative or scary. This is not a time for putting our heads in the sand and pretending or even hoping that an issue will just resolve itself. Where is the personal growth in that? Don’t you feel elated when you resolve a personal issue that no longer hangs over your head or weights on your mind? It is more important than ever to clear ourselves of past issues that we have held onto and allow more room for the new energies coming to earth to take its place within our being.

What is Lithium usually prescribed for?

Bi polar disorder
Agitation not associated with bipolar disorder
Depression and to boost the effect of antidepressants
As a mood stabiliser
Sever Migraine Headaches
“Much like fluoride, lithium alters the brain’s normal production of serotonin and norepinephrine, which in turn artificially alters the way an individual thinks and how he or she feels about a given situation. Lithium is literally a mind-altering, antidepressant chemical substance that those promoting it openly admit modifies brain function. And yet they purport that forcibly inducing these chemical changes on the unwitting populations of the world is a good and acceptable idea.” Source

So what are “experts” saying?

“Lithium has been heralded by some experts as the next potential flouride, after scientists found suicide rates were lower in areas where the drinking water had higher concentrations of the element, reports the Daily Mail” Source

“Time to supplement? Some scientists believe lithium could reduce suicide rates if traces were added to drinking water. The study, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, analysed a sample of 6,460 lithium measurements and then compared suicide rates across 99 districts.” Source

If anyone still believes that adding fluoride into our drinking water is a good idea. Please read our article on this subject here.

What are some side effects of Lithium?
extreme thirst, urinating more or less than usual;
weakness, fever, feeling restless or confused, eye pain and vision problems;
restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck;
pain, cold feeling, or discolorations in your fingers or toes;
feeling light-headed, fainting, slow heart rate;
hallucinations, seizure (blackout or convulsions);
fever with muscle stiffness, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats; or
early signs of lithium toxicity, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, muscle weakness, tremor, lack of coordination, blurred vision, or ringing in your ears.
Less serious side effects may include:
mild tremor of the hands;
weakness, lack of coordination;
mild nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain or upset;
thinning or drying of the hair; or
itching skin.

Adding Lithium appears to be yet another way that our population can be “dumbed down”. Why would governments want to turn our drinking water into a chemical cocktail? Perhaps this way society we will be more malleable and less people will be concerned about what is really going on in this world.

  1. Are you kidding me? This can not possibly legal by any stretch of the law.

    1. If it's not legal it will be if it means even more obscene PROFITS for big pharma and the corrupt gov(s)that represent them(bought and paid for by the lobbyists). It will be a lottery win for the pharmaceutical companies. It's always about PROFITS before people. Anyone who thinks lithium or fluoride are benign 'drugs' are indeed still drinking the KOOL-AID! SMLJ

  2. No more or less legal than adding fluoride...

  3. The side effects listed is for lithium overdose not normal doses.. lithium is not such a bad drug its just purely a salt. its on the peridoc table. it actually makes a person feel less anger and less depressed feelings it does not dull down your senses if anything it gives you a high not a low. it doesnt cause cancer like flouride and no hazards to your actual biologial health unless of course as any substance on earth does to you if you overdose on it.. you can overdose on water if you consume to much of it sheesh.

    2. Its on the Periodic Table... are you fucking kidding me??? Have you been drinking to Kool-Aid that long to respond "its on the periodic table"??? Uranium and Plutonium are on the Periodic Table too... So by your logic, it would be ok to add those elements to our drinking water too! YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT!

    3. So the guy who likes Lithium must be taking it, to be that ignorant about its uses. LOL Go suck on a battery. LOL

    4. Uranium is on the periodic table too and perfectly safe!
      And please tell me more how to overdose on water - I want to try it.

    5. ^ you really can overdose on water ... but seriously anyone who thinks adding lithium to the water supply must have stock in it or is retarded

    6. I was prescribed lithium by a psychiatrist at a low dose and I disagree that it didn't cause any physiological side effects. I was eating the same so nothing in my diet was different. I experienced extreme lethargy and when my menstration started it lasted twice the amount of days as it did while I wasn't taking any prescription drugs at all.

    7. Meth is "just a salt"

    8. uranium and plutonium are radioactive elements that don't naturally occur in nature. lithium does naturally occur and is naturally higher in several places' water supplies. The therapeutic dose prescribed is much higher than the trace amounts added to water.

  4. "its a salt" and "its on the periodic table" in the same sentence = you know nothing! Lithium IS an element on the periodic table. It is NOT a salt. Salts do not appear on the periodic table because they are not basic elements. Go back to school before you start trying to convince us that a poisonous chemical is safe to put in drinking water. When you put anything in tap water, you have no control over how much of a doseage anyone consumes.

  5. I have taken veteran administration provided lithium carbonate for over 10 years to treat PTSD. This concept tells me to buy all the weapons I want as long as I drink the water. America, the lost. Bad idea.

  6. Totally agree that FLUORIDE IS NOT "BENEFICIAL" . . . You've been brainwashed by your dentist to think that fluoride is good for you! http://www.happypreppers.com/Fluoride-dangers.html

    Thanks for the info on Lithium! YIKES.

  7. This reminds me of the movie Serenity. They put a chemical called PAX into the water supply to calm the population on the planet Miranda. What happened was most of the population became so calm that they just stopped doing everything. They died from laying around doing nothing all day except watching reruns of Oprah. A small percentage of them turned into raging flesh eating psychopaths. ZOMBIES!!!

  8. 1st off lithium carbonate is considered a salt and it is used to treat bi-polar manic depressive issues. A mood stabilizer. If lithium is added to water it should be added to select waters, and people who so choose to use the lithium based water can, and not for those who so choose not too. And as far as lithium batteries, and lithium carbonate it is a total different chemical. It is not the same. So don't get the two confused. Lithium in batteries is an acid based lithium not salt based such as lithium carbonate. Anyway if the government goes thru with this it should be a choice not an option.

    Yeah ... I got a tap with pure unadulterated water, one with fluoridated water and one with beer. I can't wait to get my lithium taps and ... oh idk ... cocaine taps, why not a uranium tap? IT'S ON THE PERIODIC TABLE!! o.O NOTE TO GOV'T: LEAVE MY WATER AND FOOD THE F*CK ALONE!!

  11. What a sad state of affairs! is this the latest recommendation for babies? school age children? pregnant women? athletes? seniors? pets?
    according to a medical website :

    "Lithium is contraindicated in patients with renal failure, cardiovascular insufficiency, Addison’s disease and untreated hypothyroidism. For patients with less severe renal impairment, careful consideration of the risks and benefits of lithium treatment is required. Consultation with a renal physician may be of assistance.

    It is strongly recommended that lithium therapy be carefully reviewed on an individual patient basis before a planned pregnancy. This will need to be done in liaison with a psychiatrist and/or maternal mental health services.

    Care should be taken in patients who have vomiting or diarrhoea or if fluid or salt (sodium) intake is increased or decreased. This may include situations where patients have increased sweating such as during summer when exercise is increased, with infection or illness or if sudden dietary changes are made. Lithium serum levels may change significantly in these circumstances so more frequent monitoring may be required."

    Not to mention the side effects (or rather the effects, don't know why the word "side" is added - to make us think it is less dangerous, perhaps)

    - Hypothyroidism is common and is seen more frequently in women than men
    - Significant weight gain. Risk factors include high baseline weight, young age, female gender and concurrent antidepressants
    - Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (with deteriorating renal function).
    - Hypercalcaemia is common.

    and the warning:

    "Avoid the use of lithium during pregnancy whenever possible. The overall risk of foetal malformations is 4-12% in the first trimester and therefore greater than the general population. Cardiovascular malformations include Ebstein’s anomaly, which can be detected by foetal echocardiography at 16-18 weeks gestation. Specialist review of the use of lithium (and all other mood stabilising drugs, including lamotrigine) is indicated in any woman considering becoming pregnant, and all those who have become pregnant before discontinuing mood stabilisers. The relative risk to the mother of discontinuing treatment needs to be balanced with the risks to the foetus"

  15. You guys are gullible. Lithium is not going to be added to the water. This article is nothing but inflammatory and intentionally misleading. It is trying to lead readers to say "first it's Fluorine now it's Lithium" and the two have no connection what so ever. Lithium is a salt and it is a most natural drug, but it requires a prescription for a reason.

    It's dishonest information like this that causes people to get upset about Fluoride in the water. You will never get accurate facts from a sight like this.

  16. Get a life. This has been on the debate table for over 3 years. Chances are decent that you ALREADY have lithium in your water, since it's a naturally occurring ELEMENT, and a study in 2009 is the reason why they are pushing it.

  17. I used to take Lithium medically and it messed up my hormones giving me a condition called diabetes insipidus.
